Travel & Tunes: Wedding Weekend
We had a great time at our "wedding weekend" in Rock Hill recently. Laura's cousin was the groom, and the entire three days was a celebration. We left the little guy with his grandparents and enjoyed being grownups for a while.
- St. John's Methodist had a beautiful sanctuary and a powerful pipe organ.
- The reception was awesome, and The Mighty Kicks provided the entertainment. Laura ("the lady in the polka dots" according to their lead singer) even got to sing a little.
- Sunday we had a brunch at the mother-of-the-bride's home. That was a first for me, though I understand it's not uncommon. It was a quiet setting to chat with everyone one last time.
Friday was a blast, too. I got to jam with some musical brothers of mine that I haven't seen in a while. We fell right back into rhythm while creating a good vibe for the BBQ rehearsal dinner. It was all acoustic, with a clean electric serving as the glue for each song. Here is our setlist:
- Tracks of My Tears (Smokey Robinson)
