Prayer: Preparing for Special Services 8

Lord, as our church prays for our upcoming special services--as we pray for any ministry, really-- help us search our hearts. Do we pray for big crowds, big offerings, or emotional excitement? If so, we are failing You. We need to pray for Your glory and Your glory alone. Help us pray with right motives. When we stumble, convict our hearts and lead us to forgiveness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We'll begin our annual Fall Special Services on October 4th. In preparation, our speaker Rev. Paul Peppin has asked that our leaders join him in prayer for the month leading up to the event. I'll post a prayer each day here on the blog. I'm adapting a prayer guide from the North American Mission Board.
